Bynum and Gasol in time for Playoffs?
ESPN is reporting that Andrew Bynum may be coming back to play in time for the playoffs. Lakers first stated that Bynum would be out for at least eight weeks but now coach Phil Jackson is saying Bynum could be back in a jersey and playing minutes in about two weeks right before the start of the first round of the playoffs.
Another more important piece of information coming from the same article is the status of Pau Gasol who Phil Jackson says is shooting jumpers and is spending time on the court.
There is no doubt the Pau Gasol has a much larger impact and more significant role on this Lakers squad. To be playoff contenders the Lakers need Pau Gasol period. Without Pau Gasol the Lakers face first round elimination.
Facing the toughest Western Conference in quite some time, Pau Gasol playing with a taped up sore ankle will fit right in with Kobe’s torn finger ligament and Alan Iverson’s broken finger.
