Boston snaps Houstons streak at 22

Boston CelticsIt was only a matter of time before the Houston Rockets luck ran out and it couldn’t have happened in a more fitting place. Yep although you have to say it is an impressive streak being the second longest in NBA history, the streak has come to an end in the land of clovers and parquet floors.

When did I know the game was over? In the first quarter when Rajon Rondo was ready to beat down Rafer Alston. Boston was ready to win and sent a strong message: “Your streak means nothing here!”. In case you missed it watch the video:

Kevin Garnett dealing with some recent criticism from his form team the Minnesota Timberwolves was fired up and help bury the Rockets with an impressive final score of 94-74. KG put up 22 points along with Paul Pierce who poured in another 20 handing the TMAC and the Houston Rockets there first loss since January 27 when Houston lost against the Utah Jazz.

Tracy McGrady was swarmed by the Boston defense and shot a miserable 4 for 11. Rafer Alston tried to get the three point shot going but also went a miserable 2 for 7 from three point range and if you count the 4 for 13 from the floor that’s a total of 6 for 20. I don’t care how many games you got in a streak you got your main players shooting a total of 10 for 31 and you are going to lose.

It was a great streak capped at 22 and will be remembered for some time to come. Now the Houston Rockets sit in first place in the Western Conference playoff bracket but for how long?

Here is one more video of KG taking it down the middle and dunking in the fourth quarter.
