Boston beats Detroit clinch playoff berth

Boston Celtics won there match up against the Detroit Pistons 90 to 78. Was there ever any doubt? Boston not only won the game but they did it convincingly winning the series 2 to 1 against Detroit giving them home court advantage.

Kevin Garnett poured in 31 points with five straight to help Boston pull away in the fourth quarter after the Pistons tied it up at 69. Kendrick Perkins owned the boards with a career high 20 rebounds and Paul Pierce put up 15 points.

With this win the Celtics now clinch a playoff berth after missing the playoffs for the last two years. Also Kevin Garnett needs 23 points to reach 20,000 points in his career.
